MQL5 & New Metatrader 5 Trading Platform
The new platform,
MetaTrader 5, has been developed for a number of
months now. A new language for programming of trading strategies, MQL5, has been written, too. Stanislav Starikov (stringo), the leading developer of the language, tells in his interview about special features of MQL5 and about how it differs from
MQL4.

We at MTL (www.MetatraderLibrary.com)
are already in the process of developing under the new Metatrader 5 coding
language, in order to convert the most popular of Metatrader indicators and
experts under the new coding language. Metatrader 5 Indicators and Expert
Advisors will be available here as they become ready and available. It is said
that the Metatrader 4 trading platform will no go into non existence for quite
some time. It would be devastating for Metaquotes' business as a leading trade
platform and chart provider to quickly eliminate it's current coding language,
so there really is no need for worry or panic. I would expect MQL5 to slowly
take it's own
course as the primary coding language as more and more code
developers begin developing under the new language on their own accord. Time and
popularity should be what puts the old coding language on the trading shelf and
not a result of elimination from Metaquotes itself.
Metatrader
5 is approaching completion and by autumn of 2009, the platform is expected to
be released. Beta testing of this new client terminal and MQL5 development
environment started in the summer of 2009. The trading system of the MetaTrader
5 terminal was re-written from scratch, as well as the whole platform. As
compared to MetaTrader 4, trading possibilities of the new terminal are much
wider. First of all, the MetaTrader 5 terminal allows working in various
markets. Directly from the terminal you will be able both to execute trading
operation in Forex and work with options, futures and stocks.

New MetaEditor 5 uses a C++ progamming language
approach
The
MQL5 language for programming trading strategies is distinct for high speed of
execution and approaches C++ in terms of this parameter. As compared to MQL4,
the new language is 4-20 times quicker. This allows using more complex Expert
Advisors able to process large amounts of data per time unit and therefore
obtain more precise forecasts of price dynamics. Besides, the new language is
object-oriented which makes the development of Expert Advisors quicker and
easier.
